Play Therapy is a beautiful modality to support children where they are in their emotional development because if they are too young, or unable yet to talk about their feelings using words the use of play is the language children speak to convey their feelings before they develop the ability to talk it out

E.M.D.R.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)is an evidence-based treatment modality used to effectively treat Trauma, PTSD, Phobia’s and other ailments that are otherwise treatment resistant. EMDR only requires brief thoughts about the trauma while it works to reduce the severity of the emotion attached to the traumatic memory.

SAND THERAPY

Healing tools can come in many forms, and sand happens to be a specific aspect of play therapy that can be used as a stand alone therapy with teens and adults. Our psyche ultimately wants us to heal, and sand being used in a therapeutic environment while being with the support of a therapist can allow the internal workings of the mind to flow and reorganize itself in new ways that can release emotions in a different way than trying to talk it out.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that supports in managing stressors and challenges by changing the way you think and behave. It's most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems. Amanda offers CBT to children, teens as well as adults. REIKI

In addition to your counselling, or as a stand alone treatment, Reiki is a healing modality used to clear energy blockages that may affect our conscious awareness. When we connect for a Reiki session, we work to rebalance the nervous system and bring harmony to the mind, body + spirit.

Reiki is suitable for children, teens and adults and is a beautiful and gentle modality to find, and connect with, inner peace.
