EDMR

EMDR is a research-based treatment modality used to effectively treat Trauma, PTSD, Phobia’s and other ailments that are otherwise treatment resistant.

If you know your teen has lived through a traumatic event at any point in their life and are still struggling with symptoms including but not limited to panic attacks, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or hyper-vigilance about safety they may benefit from EMDR to alleviate their symptoms.

If you know at the outset this is potentially needed for your child from a known event(s) we can introduce EMDR this from the beginning in conjunction with talk therapy to tailor it to the child's needs. If I see indicators of the need to introduce this modality I will also reach out and have that discussion if your youth gives me permission to discuss it independently or we may all talk together at one of their sessions to discuss how this may benefit your child’s therapeutic process. EMDR can be done in 50 or 90-minute sessions and an additional option of 1-day retreats in which we can discuss the benefits and limitations of each and decide what works best for your teen.
